This half-day event provides MBA candidates an opportunity for MBA students to have 30-minute one-on-one meetings with industry leaders in areas such as marketing, finance, organics, sustainability, and cleantech. The Women’s Council hosts this event each year. It is a perennial favorite with students. Though there are many opportunities to attend networking and educational events with the business community, facilitating this individual time with business leaders gives students a unique opportunity to address their specific concerns with industry experts. Industry Insiders Day is not limited to women—both women and men participate on the student side as well as on the business side.
Here's what people have to say about Industry Insiders:
"Chris Bentley has a wealth of knowledge and contacts. It was a very productive session and I look forward to speaking with him again in the future."
"Rick Sterling was awesome. I felt like he was genuinely interested in helping me find a good path to start down as I look toward next summer."
"It was helpful to talk to a professional in the community and have them share their story. Great to have a relaxed atmosphere and not pushing for a job."
"This event provided for a one-on-one meeting with an amazing person who was able to not only answer the questions I had, but also provided great insight into the industry and supported my personal and career goals.
"It was nice to be able to talk to an executive in this type of setting. Less stressful than a crowded networking event, and more comfortable than a student-arranged informational interview. They want to help and we knew going into it that's why they were there, so it was a great setting."
